Marginalia is a small software studio. We make iOS apps that read like
books — slow, considered, made by hand. Two so far. More to come,
slowly.
We named ourselves after the notes readers write in the margins
of books — the small annotations that outlive the page. Software,
we think, should aspire to the same. Quiet. Specific.
Worth keeping.
01What we make
Two apps, both written by hand.
№ 01
Wend
The editorial travel guide.
A pocket Lonely Planet for the slow traveller. 94 destinations
across Southeast Asia, Australasia and South America — every
page written by hand, no scraped reviews, no sponsored pins.
Trails, field notes, an AI travel companion grounded only in
what we've actually written.
A pocket toolkit for the days that aren't easy. Mood tracking,
breathing exercises, journaling, a CBT-grounded library, a
private AI companion, and crisis resources tuned for Irish
services — all on-device, all yours.
The pages a reader marks are the pages that did the work.
— a note in the margins
What we believe
Three things, quietly.
i.
Slow software.
We don't ship features to fill a calendar. We ship them because
a reader needed one. The pace is deliberate. The result lasts.
ii.
Hand-written.
Every destination, every field note, every microcopy line in our
apps is written by a person, edited by a person. No scraped
reviews. No model-generated filler.
iii.
Privately yours.
We never sell data. We collect the minimum. iCloud sync is
opt-in. Reading lists, trips, journal entries — they belong to
the reader, not to us.

The mark

The pilcrow — the editor's mark for "new paragraph."
Our north star.
